We had a couple of thieves that were stealing bronze from a graveyard, and it was the scrap yard that informed the police to who was stealing it. They were charged. There should be ZERO tolerance. Get caught drunk driving you lose your licence for life. If you get caught driving after that even sober, 15yr mandatory prison sentence. THAT would stop this carnage.

My father was killed by a drunk driver in 1986 who was 3 1/2 x over the limit. He was killed instantly when a drunk cont in a Range Rover hit my father at 100mph. He was sent down for 24 months. My father was 44, my mother was 43. She is 81 now and has never recovered from the loss or shock, it has destroyed her on every level... I am 63 now, and often cry when I am alone and think of him, or hear a song on the radio...The cont that did it, was released from prison and carried on with his life as if nothing had happened. BTW they are not Drink Drivers...................they are DRUNK DRIVERS.

Difficult one for me personally. I think theres 'drink drivers' and then there's, 'drivers who have had a drink', I have been many times over the limits while in a vehicle, I aren't delusional, I aren't somebody who fools themselves and tells them they are better with a drink or two inside them than when they are sober, I have no sympathy for anybody who drinks to this sort of level and gets behind a car steering wheel.

People think they will be OK to drink & drive because there are so few police now 🤷‍♂️.

The scrap buyers are just as guilty they know it's stolen, and they should be heavily prosecuted and all the vehicles used by the thieves should be confiscated.

In the Scottish Highlands where I live, drink driving was thought of as nothing in the 60's, 70's and even the 80's. I'm glad those days are long gone. Drink driving kills and as a decent human being you just shouldn't do it. I for one will drink to that but I won't drive however.👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
